On the morning of March 30th at 0824 hrs ATFD units were dispatched to a cabinet shop for smoke coming from the structure. Upon arrival, C-shift found a working attic fire and a structure with containing a heavy fire load. The fire was quickly contained and damage limited primarily to the attic area.
At 1954 hrs on May 23rd, 2008 ATFD’s C-Shift was called to a local residence for heavy smoke coming from a barn. Upon arrival crews found heavy smoke and fire coming from the roof vents. Upon making entry into the barn, the found a vehicle on fire and fire in the loft of the structure. Also on scene was Cairo F.D.
April 18th, 2008 A-shift was dispatched to a working garage fire. Upon arrival firefighters found the unattached garage heavily involved with fire.
On June 16th, 2008 B-Shift responded to a call for a garage fire at 2435 Windsor Dr. Upon arrival first in crews found smoke coming from front door of the garage.
ARCHIVES
On May 23rd, 2008 C-Shift received and assignment of a roll-over MVA at 2090 Cable Rd. Upon arrival they found a full-size pick-up on it’s side. The occupant of the vehicle had to be extricated.
At 0046 on July 8th ATFD received an assignment for a working structure fire in a vacant structure. Upon arrival crews found a fully involved structure. The fire is currently under investigation.
At 2027 hrs on July 9th, 2008 B-shift was dispatched to garage fire at 6365 Gomer Rd. Upon arrival first due crews found a working fire in an unattached garage. The fire was quickly controlled and the structure salvaged.
In the afternoon of July 10th, 2008 at 1307 hrs, ATFD’s A-Shift was dispatched for an MVA with entrapment at the intersection of Piquad Rd and Conant Rd. Upon arrival crews found a two car MVA. Sadly, the result of the wreck was a double fatality, and two others with injuries.
On July 24th, 2008 at 0840 hrs, B-Shift was dispatched to a semi tanker rollover on U.S. Rt 30 and Leatherwood. Multiple calls were received stating the truck was on fire. Upon leaving station 1, first due trucks could see a large column of smoke coming from the vicinity.
